The Sauen Editorial, created for Fliesentisch Magazine, unfolds within the enchanting, surreal Gutshaus Sauen, nestled in a Brandenburg village. This estate, reminiscent of a gloomy fairytale, provided a forsaken and somber ambience, perfect for our evocative series.
Drawing inspiration from Johnny Dufort's eerie and absurd photography, we crafted an atmosphere rich in mystique. Our narrative explores hidden village life, capturing the bittersweet pangs of adolescent love amid an austere German landscape. Within the historic hunting lodge, we reinterpreted cottagecore, kitsch, and classic German aesthetics, blending nostalgia and modernity. Each look, sourced from talented young designers, resulted in a poetic creation that critiques and celebrates the essence of a bygone era.
