The HOLZRICHTER campaign is set somewhere between the edge of the asphalt and the horizon, where the road and the wilderness merge. Our protagonist is traveling in a classic Mercedes-Benz 450 SL. No destination, no reception, no plan - instead: silence, wide open spaces, and a moment that feels like freedom.
She gets stranded, not out of necessity, but out of curiosity. She lies down in a deck chair, turns her face to the sun, and ignores her vibrating cell phone. She takes a blanket out of the trunk, then a map. “Berlin” is written on a cardboard sign she uses for hitchhiking. But maybe she'll stay a little longer.
“Text me when you get there,” – it says on the display.
But where, exactly? Maybe the destination isn't the place – but the break in between.
