At Cruschd, everyday kitsch is brought back to life from the depths of the clutter box: reimagining symbols, vintage imagery, graphics, and objects to explore the theme of "homeland kitsch" and the stylistic identity of (Southern) German culture. In collaboration with Cara Brock, the fashion project Cruschd was launched as an ongoing collection that reinterprets the cultural heritage of the Black Forest—a playful assemblage of kitsch and youthful nostalgia.
The Schrebergarten collection draws inspiration from childhood memories of hot summer days, filled with pleasant boredom in the suburban garden allotments. It captures the idyllic charm of a "small homeland," a meeting point of nature and everyday culture. It is a nostalgic dream of childlike freedom, reimagined as a new space for escapism, humor, and (intentional) naivety.
